Once the wind gets up off the IJ the city stops being a place anybody wants to walk around in. Olivia takes more bookings in a storm week than in a clear one, which she puts down to people looking out of a window and reaching a decision. Her avenues are exposed and she dresses accordingly, arriving with the coat off before the door has finished closing. English, level and unhurried. Twenty-six, and she has a way of making an evening indoors feel like a plan rather than a retreat.

Olivia decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
